Obituary for Harold Rorem

Harold Olaf Rorem, age 98 of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota passed away peacefully at St. Therese at Oxbow Lake in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota on March 11, 2023. Harold was born to Reverend Edward and Anna (Wennevold) Rorem in Madison, Minnesota. He grew up in Slater, Iowa. Graduated from Iowa State University in Mechanical Engineering. Harold was an army veteran of World War II. He married his wife Betty (Olson) in 1951 and moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, where he worked designing offshore oil rigs for Shell Oil.

The family moved to Minnesota in 1955, where Harold started working at Honeywell Aerospace Division, later working on the Apollo project. He was a charter member of Cross of Glory Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty, his parents, brothers Joseph (Gladys), Edward, sisters Eunice (Robert Lund), Ruth (Milo Engelstad), grandchildren Zoya and Grant. He is survived by and will be dearly missed by sisters in law Evelyn Rorem, JoAnn Teigland, children Bruce (Carol), Douglas (Nadine), Steven (Ann), John, Cynthia and grandchildren Garrett (Kelli), Nicholas, Joseph, Michael, Taran (Lauren), Sean (Arianna), Jennifer (Tony), Marina, and great grandchildren.

Visitation from 4-8PM Thurs, 3/16/2023 at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 6000 Brooklyn Blvd, Brooklyn Center.

Funeral Service 11AM Friday, 3/17/2023 at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, 5929 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center with a visitation 1 hour prior to the service at church.

Private interment at Ft. Snelling.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Cross of Glory.
