Harold James Trombley, Jr. was born February 27, 1937, in Minneapolis, MN. He was raised and lived in Osseo until he married Jeanne Patricia Scherber on August 17, 1957.
Harold graduated from DeLaSalle High School in 1955 and enlisted in the U. S. Army for three years in August of that year. He spent a tour of duty in Korea. When he returned, he and Jeanne married and they went to Louisiana to finish his last year of service. He was proud of his military service.
He had varied careers: drove truck, worked credit and collections (retail and wholesale), worked at Federal Cartridge in Anoka, served as city clerk in Rogers for 6 years, and did accounting and income taxes over the years.
At age 29, Harold entered college and graduated in 1970 with a degree in Elementary Education. He was hired by Buffalo School district in 1970 and spent 15 years in Hanover before being transferred to Buffalo. At Hanover, he taught five years, but was also appointed principal after one year. He did double duty for four years before becoming a full time principal. He spent nine years in Buffalo and retired after 24 years in education.
He was active at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Rogers where he was a member since 1958. Over the years, he served on the parish council and school board, was school principal for six months, lectored and performed other volunteer activities.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne; his parents, Harold, Sr. and Mable; two sisters, Dolores Krueger and Rita Krois; Jeanne’s parents, Charles and Eleanor Scherber, Jeanne’s brother, Joseph and Jeanne’s sisters, Charlene Gratz and Carolyn Masson.
He is survived by his sons, Alan (Elizabeth) and Eric (Diane) and his daughter, Sharon (Michael) Hedman; grandchildren, Nicholas (Hailey), Susanna (Dustin) DuBose, Claire (Joseph) Molohon, Jack (Erin), and Samuel Trombley; Joel, Fr. Paul, Stephen, and Serena Hedman; Kristina and Megan Trombley; great-grandchildren Olivia Trombley; Levi, William, and Brooke DuBose; Isaac and Thomas Molohon; sisters Sherrill Betlach and Marlene Trombley; surviving brother-in-law Allen Masson; and surviving sisters-in-law Diane Scherber and Letha (Michael) Hinman; and many nieces and nephews.
His family would like to thank the staff of Brighton Hospice, especially Emily (social worker), Charity (chaplain), Patrick (RN), and Chloe (CNA).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Mary Queen of Peace Church, CROSS Food Shelf in Rogers, or Christ the King Retreat Center in Buffalo.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 4-7PM at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 34 2nd Street NE, Osseo. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 11AM at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 21304 Church Ave, Rogers, with a visitation held one hour prior to Mass at the church. Interment at St. Martin Cemetery in Rogers.
