Harold Harlan Johnson

Harold Johnson ,92, of St. Therese Oxbow Lake went to his heavenly home on January 25, 2019. He was born on December 7, 1926 in Pine City, MN to Andrew & Helen Johnson.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Arnie and Walter Johnson; son, Peter Johnson; and daughter, Margaret Johnson.

Survived by loving wife, Ruth Marie; children, Murray Johnson, Mary (Tom) Hassinger, Michael Johnson, Jim (Donna) Johnson, Steven (Delena) Johnson, and Ann (Eric) Werner; sisters, Jean Westerman, Jeanette Anderson, Arlene Engle, and Ray (Helen) Johnson; thirteen grandchildren & eleven great grandchildren; plus many other relatives, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Harold was very grateful to God for all of His Gifts to him, especially for his wife Ruth. Harold served as a Technician 4^th grade in the Army from 1944 – 1946 and received an honorable discharge. He retired from Honeywell after 36 years of service as an engineer, manager, and Director of the Munitions Division, earning Honeywell’s Engineer-Scientist award in recognition of his outstanding ability and contribution to technical accomplishment of unusual significance for Honeywell and his profession. Harold enjoyed downhill skiing in Alta, Utah until age 85, and was a model-plane builder and flyer for many years. He was an author, and always very involved with his community including Champlin, MN, where a city park was named “Harold Johnson Park” in his honor and St Therese of Oxbow Lake where he chaired the tenant council and organized many Fine Arts activities.

A Mass in Celebration of Harold’s Life will take place on Tuesday, January 29^th at 11:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Osseo, MN, 9100 93^rd Ave. N., Brooklyn Park, MN 55445, with Visitation one hour prior to Mass. Burial will follow at St. Vincent's Cemetery with Lunch following in Regan Hall.

Memorials preferred to the family and will go to Harold’s favorite charities.
