Obituary for Harland L. Hinrichs

Hinrichs, Harland Leroy, age 83 of Otsego, formerly of Fletcher, MN. Passed away October 11, 2016 at North Memorial Hospital after a long battle with heart disease. Harland was born in Campbell, MN. He and Mugs were married on July 21, 1953 at St. Phillips Catholic Church in Hankinson, ND and together they raised 6 children. Harland was well known for his devotion to his family and friends, and his caring heart. He was a hard worker and loved to work in his garden and yard. He was an active member at St. Walburga Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Osseo Lions. He served honorably in the Army during the Korean War. Over the years, he enjoyed coaching for not only his sons’ sports teams but also many community youth group sports.

Preceded in death by wife of 56 years, Margaret “Mugs”; infant son, Ronald; parents, August & Opal; siblings, Gordy, Gene, Ida, Donna. Survived by children, Reggie (Gail), Peggy (Randy) Johnson, Craig (Kim), Kelly (Deb), Les (Robin), Corey (Tina); 16 grandchildren; 5 greatgrandchildren; brother, Lowell; special friend, Darlene Altman & family; and many family & friends.

Mass of Christian Burial 11AM Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church, St. Walburga Campus, 12020 Fletcher Lane, Fletcher. Visitation from 4-8PM Friday, October 14, 2016 at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church, St. Walburga Campus and 1 hour prior to mass at church Saturday. Interment at St. Walburga Cemetery. A special thanks to the 4th Floor ICU doctors and nurses at North Memorial Hospital for all of their wonderful care.
