Gregory John Schweitzer

April 13, 1952 - January 8, 2026

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Gregory Schweitzer of Coon Rapids, MN on January 8 at Unity Hospital in Fridley, MN. Greg is survived by brothers Bob Schweitzer, Ed Schweitzer, Ron Schweitzer, Mark Schweitzer, and sisters Rose Kahnke, Rita Lakmann and Suzanne Winter. Greg is preceded in death by parents, Mary and Leo Schweitzer, sisters Normal Paul, and Pauline Lutmer, and brothers Lawrence Schweitzer, Elmer Schweitzer, and Jerome Schweitzer.

Greg attended school and served Mass while at St. Adrian’s Catholic School, also attended and graduated from Ellsworth High School, having a memorable tornado machine as a science project. He studied at Worthington Junior College and St. Cloud State College. He was a part of and enjoyed theater productions and took a great interest in the lighting technicalities. Greg worked as a machinist at FMC in Fridley, MN.

Greg loved muscle cars and could identify any car by it's tail lights. He enjoyed roller skating, travel, family reunions, and tried long distance biking and skydiving. He enjoyed FBI programs, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, and experiencing the Enterprise in Las Vegas. Greg was a kind, accepting and generous person who had a compassion for needy people. He will be truly missed.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at a later date in June at St. Adrian’s Catholic Church, Adrian MN, and the burial will follow at the Adrian cemetery.
