Obituary for Gregory A. Hanson

Age 64, of Brooklyn Park, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2024 at his home.

Preceded in death by parents, Alton and Marlene Hanson; sister, Donna (Russ) Goodman; brothers, Anthony Hanson and Joel Hanson.

Greg was a passionate person with a strong will to live life to its fullest. There was never a moment he wasn’t thinking about sports, music, or the outdoors. He had a competitive streak and always loved an adventure. There wasn’t a bigger fan of the MN Gophers, than Greg. Alternatively, he was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was always there to lend a helping hand with love. He was patient and empathetic when he needed to be and would always offer advice (even when you didn’t want it).

Throughout his life, he took great pride in his work as a machinist, most recently at Beaver Machine & Tools, and in his personal work on his home, and while helping others.

He is survived and greatly missed by his sons, Sean (Benyapa) Hanson, Andy (Angie) Brkovich; daughter, Kristina (Adam) Skaar; grandchildren, Andrew (Kallie) & Aiden Brkovich, Kaylee, Morgan & Evan Skaar; sisters, Kathryn (Val) Nelson, Karen (William) Vega, and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday, June 23 at 1PM with service following at 2PM at Evans Nordby Funeral Home, 6000 Brooklyn Blvd, Brooklyn Center, MN. Followed by a Celebration of Life at the Columbia Heights VFW, 4446 Central Ave NE, Columbia Heights, MN.

It is a place of compassion, sincerity, professionalism, and staff who go above and beyond their call of duty. Our family has sadly used both chapels over the past months. The caring did not stop after the services. They offer their continued compassion to adults and children. With grateful hearts thank you.
