Gerald B. Daugherty

Gerald Daugherty passed away on August 31, 2025 at the age of 95. He was born in Minneapolis, MN on May 18, 1930 to Fred and Isabelle Daugherty. He grew up in Minneapolis and attended Ascension Catholic Grade School, St. Cyril School, and North High School. In 1952 he was drafted into the U.S. Army (Sergeant in the Korean War) and served his country until November 1954. He is a retired member of Pipefitters Local Union 539. Jerry and Joan were married on November 20, 1954 at Ascension Catholic Church in Minneapolis. They had four children: Diane, David, Jane, and Mark. Together they raised their family in Minneapolis for 31 years before building their dream home in Brooklyn Park in 1985. As a family they took many road trips around the U.S. and enjoyed camping up north at Hand Lake with the cousins. Jerry and Joan loved traveling and took numerous bus tours, road trips, cruises, and spent a couple months each year in Florida where Jerry learned how to carve wooden ducks .Jerry was preceded in death by his beautiful wife Joan, parents Fred and Isabelle, brothers Pat (Maureen), Jim (Rose Ann), John, his sister Mary (Jerry), and sister-in-law Barbara. He is survived by his children, Diane (Tom), David (Shari), Jane (John), Mark (Carla); and his brother Ken. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ryan, Katie(Hugo), John(Crystal), Matt(Leah), Ellie(Kory), Ana(Michael), Tara(Ryan), Ross(Lauren), Gina; and great-grandchildren, Logan, Leo, Luca, Mateo, Ruthie, Frankie, Eloise, Winnie, Zach, and Dominic.

A private funeral service will be held.
