Gene Heesch

Eugene "Gene" Charles Heesch, age 83, passed away at the VA Medical Center, Minneapolis on June 16th, 2025. Gene was originally from Elkton, SD and served in the US Navy after high school. He lived most of his adult life in Brooklyn Center, MN before recently moving to Rogers, MN. Gene spent most of his working years over the road trucking. Gene enjoyed watching sports, especially the Vikings, Twins and Lynx. He loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed playing cards, an occasional trip to the casino and scratch-off lottery tickets. Gene was a kind and caring person with a great sense of humor and quiet and strong presence. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Preceded in death by his parents, George and Helen Heesch; parents in law, Bud and Alta Heise; brother, Gerald and wife Eleanor; sister, Peggy and husband, Bud; sister, Pat and husband, Jerry;  brother-in-law; Ed; nephews, John and Dean; and nieces, Pam, Nancy and Susan.

Gene is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, JoAnn; daughters, Kim (Mel), Vicki (Scott), Staci (Scott); grandchildren, Taylor, Jordan, Andrea, Dylan, Morgan, Brandon, Emily, and Ryan; sisters, Rosie and Mary (Clyde) and brother-in-law, Larry; special friends, Wayne and Sheila, Joe and Carol; his bestie, Beau; as well as many nieces and nephews and friends.

Visitation gathering Monday 6/30/3035 from 4-7PM at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 34 2nd Street NE, Osseo, and funeral Tuesday 7/1/2025 at 11AM at  Mary Queen of Peace Church, 21304 Church Ave, Rogers, MN, wiith visitation 1 hour prior to funeral.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the American Legion Post 303, 7365 Central Ave NE, Fridley, MN, 55432, can be made in his honor.
