Obituary for Faith Nyakondo

After battling Cervical Cancer, Faith Moraa Nyakondo died on March 3, 2018 at the University of MN Medical Center at the age of 33.

Faith was born on September 16, 1984 in Nairobi, Kenya to father Charles Nyakondo and mother Divinah Nyakondo who predeceased her. She was the first born of their four children with two brothers, Goodhope and Edwin, and one sister, Depeah.

Faith grew up in Minneapolis, MN. She graduated from Southwest High School in 2003 and continued her education at St. Cloud State University where she graduated with a B.A. in International Relations in 2007. She completed her Master’s degree in Social Responsibility in 2015.

Faith had a passion for travel and food and spent much of her time abroad. She studied in South Africa and taught in South Korea, Spain, and China. Her travels also included visits to Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, India, Thailand, The Philippines, Malaysia, Cambodia, The Bahamas and more, taking in the foreign sights and cuisine.

Faith Moraa Nyakondo is the daughter of Charles Nyakondo and the Late Divinah Nyakondo. She is the sister to Goodhope, Depeah, Edwin, Baraka, and Sarem Nyakondo and the step daughter to Elizabeth Nyakondo. She is the granddaughter to omong’ina Mariam Nyaboke Mong’eri, omogaka William and omong’ina Milka Nyakondo, Late elder Nahashon and omong’ina Esther Onyando. She is the niece to the families of the following: Aska Ongweso, Grace Samuel, Perminus and Lisper Oteyo, Tabitha Kwamboka, Steven and Joyce Makori, Esther Nyabuto, David and Regina Omenge Mong’eri, Mr. and Mrs. John Kebaso Mong’eri, Abel and Sophiah Nyakondo, Peter and Orpha Nyangenya, Benjamin Nyakondo, Maria Nyakondo, Eunice Nyaboke Nyakondo, George and Aska Onyando, Nehemiah and Florence Onyando, Elkanah and Jennifer Onyando, Rebekah Onyando, Henry and Frieda Onyando, Peninah Onyando King, John and Rosebella Onyando, Elijah and Eunice Omare, Benjamin and Mary Onyangore, David and Florence Omare, Charles and Alice Omare, Christopher and Monica Oganda, Late Moegi and Drusila Omare, Nicolas and Emma Omare, Onyoni Omare, and Isaiah Omare, Makori Obeya, and Machani and Divinah Obeya.
