Obituary for Erik Richard Osterberg

Erik Richard Osterberg, age 35, of Maple Grove, passed away surrounded by loving family and close friends on February 3, 2023. He was born June 17,1987 to Kevin Osterberg and Joni (Holman) Osterberg. Erik is a 2005 graduate of Maple Grove Senior High and 2010 graduate of MSU Mankato. He began his career path as a Credit Manager trainee with Ferguson Enterprises, LLC with a move to Michigan. His career advancement as a Credit Manager then took him to Chicago and Cincinnati before an opportunity opened for his return home to the Twin Cities.

Erik will be remembered for his calm demeanor and humorous one-liners. He was an avid sports fan, especially of his Minnesota Vikings, Gophers, Twins and Wild. From his time of birth, Erik loved spending time year-round at the family cabin on Thunder Lake either sitting around the campfire, hunting the woods, or on family pontoon rides.

Erik was preceded in death by his mother, Joni Osterberg; grandparents; and family dogs. He is survived by his father, Kevin Osterberg (Kate Janka); sister, Ashley Osterberg (Adam Nelson); cherished nephew, Ronin Hickey; and uncle and Godfather, Jeff (Pam) Holman; as well as special aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

There will be a Celebration of Erik’s Life on Sunday, March 5,2023, at The RE/MAX Results Office Building, 7373 Kirkwood Court N., Maple Grove, from 2-6 PM, with a prayer service at 2:30 PM and time for sharing after. Please wear your favorite sports jersey to honor his love of sports.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Erik’s mother’s memory to The Huntington’s Disease Society of America or to the charity of your choice.
