Age 37, passed away on September 10, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. Liz fully, graciously, and gratefully lived life even with cancer for more than 5 years, inspiring so many others to live the same way.
Liz was born in Marquette, MI on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1983. She grew up in Marquette. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota and her Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan. She worked as a medical and hospice social worker in the Twin Cities area until her health forced her to retire.
On June 20, 2009, she married the love of her life, Nathan Kro, and they made their home in Maple Grove, MN. They have one son, Henrik, age 6. Liz was a great planner of events and adventures for her family- especially for Henrik.
Liz was very well known for her skills as a knitter. Many of her family and friends have cherished items that she knitted for them. Her knitting won many awards, especially her shawls. Two years in a row her shawls were chosen by the Knitter’s Guild as best in show at the Minnesota State Fair.
Liz is survived by her husband Nate and her son Henrik; her parents Mary and Bill Davis; her brother Matt Davis; her aunt, Jan Kokko; her Uncle, Tom (Jane) Davis; her aunt, Judi (Doug) Lockhart; cousins Kathie Lockhart, Kate Marie (Brent) Sawyer, Patrick (Rich) Davis; Mother-in-Law Deanna (Paul) Nagel, Father-in-Law Marlowe (Ann Mishler) Kro, Brother-in-Law Matthew (Kristin) Kro, and nieces and nephews.

Evans-Nordby funeral chapel in Osseo, MN handled my husband’s cremation and Celebration of Life service in July of 2023. I can’t say enough positive things about all aspects of my interactions with them. They reached out to help every step of the way—from planning the Celebration of Life service, the service itself, and after care contact. Brittney was the person I primarily worked with. She was kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, organized, and had great communication skills, which greatly helped in reducing my stress level. I plan to contact Evans-Nordby soon to pre-plan my own final arrangements.
