Elaine Brasel

Elaine Brasel, 84, of Brooklyn Park, MN, passed away on February 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Elaine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister whose life was defined by love, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family. She lived with quiet resilience and grace, offering support, kindness, and care to all who knew her.

Elaine was a loving mother to her daughters, Jodi (T.J) Brown and Lori (Andy) Opiola, and a proud grandmother to Addie, Tommy, Cullen, Henry, and Will, each of whom brought her immense joy.

She is also survived by her sister, Judy (Denny) Renkiewicz of Grand Marais, MN, and brother, Don (Susie) Skadburg of Des Moines, IA.

Elaine was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Norman Brasel, who passed away on September 5, 2025; her parents, Norris and Esther Skadburg; and her brother, Ron Skadburg.

Elaine will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and deep devotion to her loved ones. Her legacy lives on through the family she cherished and the many lives she touched.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Evans Nordby Funeral Home, 34 Second St. NE, Osseo, MN. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. In this time of sorrow, we invite all who knew Elaine to come together in love and support, as we remember a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, neighbor, and friend.

Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery will take place this summer.

Elaine will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
