Eileen was born on June 15th, 1947 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota to parents Willard and Margaret Loberg. She graduated from Brooklyn Center High School in 1965. Eileen met the love of her life, Don, and they married on November 2nd, 1967. Their 50 years of marriage had them traveling and living all over the world. From Minnesota to Russia to San Diego and finally back to her roots in Minnesota.

With Don serving in the military with the United States Navy as a Seabee, Eileen became a Government Contract Specialist for the Department of the Defense/Navy. She worked over 30 years with the Navy until her retirement in 2011.

Eileen was a social and active woman who was deeply involved with helping military families and giving of her time to the American Legion Posts wherever she lived. She served as a past President of the Woman’s Axillary at American Legion Post #630 in Brooklyn Center.

Eileen was an amazing woman that at times seemed tough on the outside, yet she was very loving, kind and giving. Eileen would take in others when they needed a place to stay or get back on their feet. Many people have benefited from the kindness of Eileen and Don and are eternally grateful for that support. She was a mother figure to many and she will be greatly missed.

She loved watching movies, going to the theatre and playing cards. She will be remembered drinking her Diet Pepsi with no ice, having the most amazing and colorful fingernails and her sense of style.

Evans-Nordby funeral chapel in Osseo, MN handled my husband’s cremation and Celebration of Life service in July of 2023. I can’t say enough positive things about all aspects of my interactions with them. They reached out to help every step of the way—from planning the Celebration of Life service, the service itself, and after care contact. Brittney was the person I primarily worked with. She was kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, organized, and had great communication skills, which greatly helped in reducing my stress level. I plan to contact Evans-Nordby soon to pre-plan my own final arrangements.
