Obituary for Edwin McNitt

Edwin David McNitt, age 73, of Brooklyn Park, passed away on February 27, 2024 at the Harbors Senior Living in Fridley, MN. He was born May 30, 1950 in Osage, IA to Howard and Jeanette (Wilson) McNitt. Ed is a veteran of the United States Army who served for two years during the Vietnam War. Ed was passionate about machining, collecting model tractors and making miniature working engines. Those who knew Ed, all say he had a quick, dry humor that will be missed.

Ed is preceded in death by his father, Howard McNitt; mother, Jeanette (Wilson) McNitt; step-mother, Frances (Herr) McNitt; brothers, Roland & Russell McNitt; sister Marlys Reiser; step-brothers, Fred & John Herr; step-sisters, Nancy Williams, Margaret Schwartz & Irene Goodman; nephew, Michael Plautz; Stepson, Troy Wimmer.

Ed is survived by siblings, Mary Baldwin of St. Marys, Ohio; Larae McNitt of Elk River; Sharon (Ervin) Muellner of Burtrum, Ethel (John) Becker of Wadena, Tom (Donata) Herr of Alexandria; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

Visitation from 4-6PM on Thurs, 3/21/24 at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 34 2nd St. NE, Osseo.

Interment on Fri, 4/19/24 at 12PM at MN State Veterans Cemetery, Preston, MN.
