Obituary for Edward Duncan Mallam

Age 63, of Maple Grove, passed away on August 30, 2022.

Dunc grew up in Oelwein, Iowa and graduated from Oelwein Community High School- Class of 1977 where he played football as a Husky! He also attended Hawkeye Technical School and graduated in 1978. He married his high school sweetheart on April 21, 1979. Dunc and Marian settled in the Twin Cities, raised their 2 children and lived in Osseo, Brooklyn Center, and Maple Grove through their 43 years of marriage! Dunc worked as a machinist for 44 years at R & W Welding and Machine, Gresen Manufacturing, and most recently at Tennant, where he retired in 2020.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Genevieve Mallam and his brother Robert Mallam.

Duncan is survived by his beloved wife, Marian Mallam; children Katie Mallam, Ed (Stephanie) Mallam; sister, Rebecca (Russ) McGill; and many nieces and nephews.

Dunc will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family, his integrity and strong work ethic, and his passion for his 1930 Model A Ford which he has owned, maintained, and driven for 50 years. Dunc enjoyed hunting with his springer spaniels, shooting trap with his son, visiting his daughter in Napa Valley, and watching the Twins, Gophers, and Vikings.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 9, 2022, at 11AM at Maple Grove Lutheran Church, 9251 Elm Creek Blvd. N, Maple Grove. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Inurnment at Maple Knoll Cemetery, Maple Grove.
