Duane Alan Bottila passed away on 05/02/2022. He was born on 06/04/1948 in Moose Lake, MN to Anne and Eli Bottila and grew up in the Hoyt Lakes area. Duane married Judy (McGillivray) in 1967 and they were married for 54 years. Duane (Dewy) worked as a switchman for Burlington Northern Railroad, until he retired. He was very proud of his Finnish heritage and had a talent and passion for creating and carving works of art out of wood. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Judy. Survived by his children Dawn (Tom), Matthew (Cindi), & Melisa (Matt); grandchildren, Kalie (Chris) & Eli; 4 step-grandchildren; and great grandson, Kellen. In keeping with Duane’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. We will have a small gathering of close family and friends, at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples, MN on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 11am.
