Obituary for Dorothy Shoemaker

Dorothy E. Shoemaker, age 93, of Plymouth, passed away January 22, 2022. Dorothy was born March 23, 1928 in Nelson, MN to Gust & Ellen Erickson. She married Harvey Shoemaker on July 24, 1948 in Alexandria. They moved from Alexandria to Minneapolis in the mid 1950’s.She worked for more than 38 years at First Bank Produce (now US Bank). She was a member at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church since 1967.

Preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; infant son, Steven; siblings, Roy Erickson, Raymond Erickson, Reuben Erickson, Edwin Erickson, Florence Hill, Myrtle Briese, Edythe Parent, and Ethel Hauer.

Survived by her daughter, Susan (Ken) Schleif; grandchildren, Matthew (Melissa) Schleif and Amy (Jon) Lund; great grandchildren, Dustin, Lillianna, Marlys, Asher, Bodyn, and Coen; nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Memorial Service will be at 10:30 AM Friday, January 28, 2022, at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, 5929 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center, with visitation 9:30-10:30 AM. Interment this spring at Evergreen Cemetery in Alexandria.

Memorials preferred to University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital.
