Puls, Donald A.,
Age 86, of Brooklyn Center, passed away surrounded by love on 12/22/2017. Born 11/3/1931 in Olivia, Minnesota to Leo & Olga Puls. Donald graduated from Olivia High School in 1949, served his country honorably in the United States Air Force from 1949-1952, and became an electronics technician in 1956. He married his long-time love, Arlys Olson, on June 23, 1956 at St. Lukes Lutheran Church, and the couple had two daughters. Donald worked hard to provide for his family and still made time for charity, hobbies and above all God. He taught Sunday School for many years at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, served as Chairman of Personnel Committee, Chairman of Business Advisors, President of the Rotary Club and much more. He had a wonderful sense of adventure and loved to travel, seeing 48 out of the 50 states and many European countries. He always enjoyed down time with his family the most, whether it was getting hole’s in one at the golf course, planning the next road trip or fishing with the family at Gull Lake, his smile would say it all. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo & Olga Puls; siblings, Leroy Puls & Leota Hannegrafs. Survived by his loving wife, Arlys; daughters, Debra (Dan) Shaffer & Pam Sullivan; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Puls; and many other relatives and friends. A Celebration of life will be held 11 AM Monday, January 8, 2017 at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church (5929 Brooklyn Blvd, Brooklyn Center) with visitation one-hour prior. Inurnment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association at Alz.org
