Age 87 of Maple Grove. Died on October 28, 2018 succumbing to complications of late onset cancer caused by exposure to atomic bomb testing while in the US Marine Corp.
David was born in Minneota, MN on April 28, 1931 to parents Walter and Lillian Johnson. He graduated from Minneota High School in 1949 and
served in the U.S. Marines Corp from 1950-1954. He served with the 1st
division USMC in Korea, he was a true patriot, loving his country second only
to his family.
Preceded in death by his wife Deirdre (nee’ Kavanagh) parents
Walter & Lillian, brother Glenn and sister Joyce.
Survived by his children Bruce (Cindy), Barry (Julie), Bobbi (Scott) Rogers and Brady (Jill); sisters Elsie Keys and Karen Vickberg; brother Craig Johnson; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; loving partner of 26 years Becky Palda; the Gillund family and Jed Palda.
Funeral service WEDNESDAY, 10/31, 11AM Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 34 2nd St. NE, Osseo. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
