David Lentz

David "Dave" Bruce Lentz, age 59, of Hopkins, Minnesota. Dave departed this world to join his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 29, 2026. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles "Bruce" Lentz and Elizabeth "Betty" Rolloff Lentz. Born in Wayzata, Minnesota on June 29, 1966, Dave graduated from Wayzata High School in 1984, and earned his BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University in 1988. Dave enjoyed a long and satisfying career as a hardware engineer, most recently at Digi International in Hopkins. Additionally, he found great joy in teaching anything related to technology, and was an instructor at South Central Technical College in Mankato. Dave loved traveling, in particular to Wales, England and Germany, as well as board game nights with his friends and family. His favorite spot on this earth was his cabin near Pine River, where he could build, relax with family, and enjoy the peace of the lake. Survived by one sister, Rebecca Elizabeth (Michael) Wittrig of Trempealeau, WI; and nephews James (Ollie) and Jacob, as well as many cousins. 

Funeral Service 12 noon Monday, June 8, 2026, at Ascension Lutheran Church, with visitation 11 AM to 12 noon at church. Interment will be at Gethsemane Cemetery in New Hope.
