Obituary for Daniel D. Hauser

Daniel Hauser, also known to his friends as Squirrel or Squirrelly Dan, was a quiet man with a big heart. He left a lasting impression on everyone he met and was loved by many. He was always there to lend a helping hand whenever he was needed.

He loved to ride motorcycles and his Harley-Davidson Night Train was his prized possession. His other favorite past times were hunting and playing cribbage. Dan had a great sense of humor and was always cracking jokes or telling stories. He was an animal lover and always had to have a cat or dog around to snuggle up with while he was watching TV or napping on the couch.

Dan joined the US Marine Corp. in 2007 and spent two years stationed in Okinawa, Japan. In 2010 he did a tour of duty in Afghanistan before being discharged in 2011. He proudly served his country and often spoke about his adventures in the service and the many close friends that he made along the way. Semper Fi!

Dan was a handyman by trade and loved to tinker and build things. Anyone who knew Dan knows that his favorite “tools” were duct tape, hot glue and cable ties and his tool box was always well stocked.

Dan is preceded in death by his Grandparents Peter and Helen Grad and Marlene Hauser and cousin Thomas Grad. He is survived by his parents Darwin and Helen Hauser, brother Derrick and sister-in-law Rose Hauser, special loved one – Christina Sundberg, along with many uncles, aunts and cousins.

Dan will be greatly missed by so many people but those of us who had him in our lives know how lucky we truly were. May he rest in peace.

Our son recently passed away and of course you never expect to have to deal with this for your children so my wife and I were not only devastated but didn’t know what to do or where to turn next. Evans-Nordby was recommended to us by our Priest and I’m so glad he did. From the moment I talked to Tina on the phone I could tell we were in good hands as she took care of every detail. We met with her the next day and she went through all the aspects of what we were to expect in the coming days, weeks, then months ahead. Every employee we had contact with at Evans-Nordby was kind, compassionate and extremely professional. Thanks Tina and to all at Evans-Nordby for making an unbearable experience at least tolerable.
