Obituary for Daniel Branesky

Daniel Branesky died on September 6, 2016 on his 89-½ birthday. Dan resided in

Champlin, Minnesota for the past twenty-three years. Before moving to the Champlin area, he lived in Minot and Max, North Dakota.

Dan was born March 6, 1927 in Max, North Dakota and lived there until he graduated from Max High School. After High School Dan married Irma Imogene Nelson and had three boys, Jerry, Don and Brian. Dan became a widower in his sixties after a long marriage. Dan then married a longtime friend, also widowed, Janet Weaver (Johnson) who Dan and Irma knew in Minot during their high school days. Dan and Janet lived in Minot for two years before Dan retired from the Burlington Northern Railway after 40 years of service. They lived in Minot another two years before moving to the Minneapolis area where Janet lived before they
married. Dan and Janet were married for 27 years. In his younger years he
enjoyed fishing, hunting, bingo, square dancing, camping, woodcarving, and was
an avid gardener all of his life.

His survivors are his wife, Janet Branesky; sons, Jerry (Linda) Branesky, Don (Jean) Branesky and Brian (Joanne) Branesky; along with grandchildren Calista,
Christopher, Brooke, Philip, Cara, Alexa, Andrea; many great-grandchildren;
and his brother, Leon (Nancy) Branesky. He is also survived by three
step-children, Lynn Weaver, Cheryl (Joe) Willenbring, and Gary Weaver; as well
as many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in
death by his first wife, Irma Imogene Branesky; parents, Nick Branesky and
Magdalena Branesky (Dabowey); sister, Paulene Ulich; and his brothers Bill
Branesky, George Branesky, and Nick Branesky.

Services will be held at the following at 2:00 p.m. with viewing from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday September 17, 2016:
