Clem (CJ, Benny) Benkofske, age 85 of Brooklyn Center. Passed away June 19, 2018. Preceded in death by wife, Carol; parents, sister, brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; and grandson, Connor. Beloved husband, father, grandpa, and great-grandpa. Besides spending time with family, Clem enjoyed fishing, golf, wood carving, railroad memorabilia, and during retirement, many hours with friends at the Brooklyn Center Civic Center.
Survived by 8 children, Bernie Kemp, Mark, Dee Wahl, Gerald, Alane (Jeff) Lindgren, Loran, Neal (Lynda), Stephanie (Ken) Erickson; 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother Fran; sisters, Joan & Vicky (Rod); brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law; and other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial 11AM Friday, June 29, at the Church of St. Alphonsus, 7025 Halifax Ave, Brooklyn Center. Visitation 4-8PM Thursday, June 28, with Anoka Honor Guard at 6:30PM at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 6000 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center and 2 hours prior to the service at church Friday. Interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery Monday at 12:45PM.

Evans-Nordby funeral chapel in Osseo, MN handled my husband’s cremation and Celebration of Life service in July of 2023. I can’t say enough positive things about all aspects of my interactions with them. They reached out to help every step of the way—from planning the Celebration of Life service, the service itself, and after care contact. Brittney was the person I primarily worked with. She was kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, organized, and had great communication skills, which greatly helped in reducing my stress level. I plan to contact Evans-Nordby soon to pre-plan my own final arrangements.
