Celine Greeninger
March 1, 1937 - April 20, 2025
Celine Marie Greeninger was born March 1, 1937 to Matthew and Ellen McNeil Flynn in Scranton, Pennsylvania. It was a lively household which included her grandparents Willy and Bridget McNeil, her parents and her seven older siblings. They taught her how to dance and celebrate everything Irish. She was educated in St. Ann’s Monastery, and was a graduate of St. Ann’s High School. As a senior she had the honor of being selected to do the May Crowning of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
She met the love of her life Vernon Greeninger in 1955 at a wedding and they married on January 14, 1956. Their marriage was blessed with four children. Vernon became a pipefitter in 1957 and soon after they moved from Scranton to Minnesota. Celine was welcomed by Vernon’s large family in Minnesota and she became one of the Greeninger Clan.
Celine moved many times throughout her life; she loved having visitors and sharing stories that showed her quick Irish wit. She traveled the world and shared all her adventures with her beloved husband Vernon. Celine cherished her large family especially spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.
