Carol Ann Rovn (née Jenkins)

Carol Ann Rovn, 84, of New Hope, MN, passed away November 21, 2025, after a two day stay at the Covenant Living of Golden Valley. She had been cared for at Johanna Shores for two weeks after suffering a stroke on the 25th of October 2025.

Carol was born to Albert and Elvira Jenkins on July 24, 1941, in Rensselaer, IN. Carol and James Rovn were united in marriage November 29, 1963, in Spring Valley, MN.

Carol, her sisters Ruth and Marjorie, moved to Spring Valley, MN in 1947. Carol was educated in the Spring Valley schools, graduating in 1959. She then attended Mankato State College, graduating with a degree in Elementary Education in 1963. Mankato was where she met her husband, Jim. She then started a long career of teaching in schools in Racine, WI, Bloomington, MN, Robbinsdale, MN, and Hopkins, MN. Her love of teaching was also shown in Sunday schools, summer schools, and the media center at Zachary Lane Elementary School.

Carol is survived by her husband, James Rovn; sons, Scott (Samantha) Rovn, of Lenexa, KS, and Christian (Jennifer) Rovn, of Minneapolis, MN; and her sister, Marjorie (Warren) Finné, of Brainerd, MN. Carol is very pleased to have grandchildren, August, Max, Davis, Madeline, and Parker.

In retirement, she developed an interest in genealogy and was active in many family searches until her development of dementia and Alzheimer’s.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Ruth.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 1PM at the Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 34 2nd Street NE, Osseo. Visitation 1 hour prior to the service.

There will be a graveside service for Carol at the Allen Township Cemetery in Ransom, IL at a later date.
