Carl P. Keznoff

Carl Peter Keznoff (1938-2025)

While not unexpected, it is with great sadness that we announce Carl's death. He passed away peacefully in his home in Plymouth Minnesota on December 10th 2025.

Carl was a prolific story teller who cherished his family and his Russian heritage. He grew up in Detroit, Michigan playing with the neighborhood kids and his chemistry set.

A "Cold War Warrior", Carl was so proud of his service. "Five years in the Air Force and I only saw one plane". He served up on the Pine Tree Line on a semi-remote radar site on a mountain top with a 10 foot fence topped with three feet of barbed wire. He said the snow piled so high that deer would waltz right in.

He was married for 64 years to his wife Vivianjune, they were so close they even shared a birthday. Their wedding was filled with service men wearing dress uniforms. A full bird Colonel, his soon to be Father-in-law, opened the door for him. When he went back to the base after the wedding, everyone gave him a salute.

As an engineer, he worked on computers in the days when they were so big you could take a lunch break inside. While his work took him across the globe he always treasured coming home to his family.

He went fishing often and told fish tales about the ones that were "this big-- between the eyes". He loved woodworking; he built toys for his grandchildren and restored antiques. And salads never tasted better than fresh from his garden.

He was survived by his wife Vivianjune Keznoff for 8 months after his passing. He is survived by daughters Susan Keznoff and Sharon Goodchild and grandchildren Elizabeth Keznoff, Cody Goodchild and Brianna Goodchild (Pattis).

We will be honoring his memory with a service at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on September 3rd 2026.
