Obituary for Bettie M. Koenig

Age 91, of Brooklyn Park & Longville, Minnesota, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, in Loretto, Minnesota.

Born June 10, 1928 to Arthur & Ella Banke in Howard Lake, Minnesota. After graduating from Howard Lake High School, she married the love of her life Dale in 1948.

While raising her family in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, she enjoyed doing ceramics, china painting, watercolor paintings and playing bridge with lifelong friends. Bettie was a longtime member of the Brooklyn United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school. She enjoyed creating memories having family and friends visit the lake home in Longville, Minnesota

Bettie was preceded in death by beloved husband, Dale Koenig; parents, Arthur & Ella Banke; siblings, Bonnie (Bill) Kanning, Bill (Gladys) Banke, and Mary (Bud) Guggemos.

She is survived by children, Kim (Jean) Koenig, and Kevin (Debra) Koenig; grandchildren, Kelly (Jake) Anderson, Clifford (Leslie) Koenig, Jennifer (Mike) Vesely, Allison (Nick) Kosevich, and Bryan (Laura) Koenig; great-grandchildren, Owen Kosevich, William Vesely, Julianna Vesely, Grant Koenig, and Wesley Koenig; and sister, Martha (Les) Curtis.

She loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and is smiling down on her family from heaven. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

A private family gathering will be at the Howard Lake cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Brooklyn United Methodist Church, or Longville Community Church.
