Obituary for Beng Ho

Beng Chou Ho, age 79 of Brooklyn Park, MN passed away peacefully on February 5, 2024. Born in Rangoon, Burma, she lost her mother at 5 years old and her father at 13 years old. Afterwards, she was raised by her aunt whom arranged her marriage to Sin Kan Ho at 16 years old. Beng and Sin moved to the United States in 1981 with their seven children and mother-in-law. She worked as a cook at the Minneapolis Club in downtown Minneapolis, then retired from that organization after 34 years in 2016. She had a great passion for cooking, family, Asian cinema, visiting the casino, food, enjoyed participating in activities with family and/or the senior community with friends and enjoyed life to the fullest. She always greeted people with a smile, made sure people were fed (usually with a plate full of food in her hands saying “Go eat”), and always sacrificed her needs for the good of her family.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, Sin Kan Ho, mother-in-law: Pain A. Sit, and grandchild: Darren Luong. She is survived by her children: Kimberly Kauffman (Jeffrey), Jenny Lee (Sydney), Wayne Ho, Julie Ho, Sim Childers (Chris), Shannon Ho (Jerry James), Lein Waters (Michael Bell). Former son-in-law: Anthony Tan. Several grandchildren: David Tan (Bonita Wettlin), Kevin Tan, Jacklyn Lee, Dillon Lee, Christopher Lee, Donovan Luong, Sophia Luong, Aaden Luong, Jade Childers, Cole Childers, Elizabeth Ho Nelson (Todd), Jeric James, Jayla James, and great grandchild: Orion Wettlin-Tan.

Funeral Service 10AM Friday, February 9, 2024 at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 6000 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center, MN 55429 with visitation starting at 9AM at the funeral home. Service followed by interment at Lakewood Cemetery at 12PM.
