Barbara Weinand

Age 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 20, 2025, following her courageous battle with COVID-19 and severe pneumonia. Barbara's life was defined by her love for her family, her dedication to her community, and her extraordinary creativity.

Barbara, daughter of Don and Betty Hansen was preceded in death by both her parents, and brother, David.

Survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, William Weinand. Barbara leaves behind her cherished children, daughters, Katie Krihak of Minneapolis, and Michele Persohn, of Eagle, Idaho; her son, Kevin Weinand, of Kirkland, Washington; her grandson, Kyle Weinand; and her brother, Gary Hansen of Rosemount, Minnesota.

Barbara and her family called Osseo home for many years. While raising her children there, she worked for over 25 years as a dental assistant for Dr. Osada. A well-known figure in the community, Barbara was devoted to making a difference and giving back. She served as a Worthy Matron with the Anoka Masonic Chapter and treasured the time she spent volunteering and supporting others.

Barbara’s artistic talents were boundless. She found joy in arts and crafts, sewing, crocheting, and knitting—and she was known for crafting beautiful quilts that will forever be a source of warmth and comfort to her loved ones. In her later years, she made many dear friends at Urbana Place in Brooklyn Park, where she enriched the lives of those around her.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00am. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 34 2nd Street NE, Osseo, MN. Barbara’s family invites all who knew her to come and celebrate her remarkable life.
