Audrey Pederson

Audrey Pederson (née Jacobsen), age 90, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026, in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Born on December 9, 1935, in Montevideo, Minnesota, Audrey lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and devotion to her family and faith.

A graduate of Montevideo High School in the class of 1953, Audrey began her professional career at Prudential Insurance, where she met her future husband, Eilert.  She spent most of her working years at the Soo Line Railroad, where she worked as a switchboard operator. She enjoyed the downtown Minneapolis location and shopping at the many department stores during her lunch hour. 

Audrey married the love of her life, Eilert Burton Pederson, in 1955, with whom she shared many cherished years until his passing. Together, they built a life centered on family and faith. They enjoyed daily walks together and treasured time spent with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Audrey’s home was often filled with family gatherings—a testament to the deep bonds she nurtured with those she loved.

Faith played an integral role in Audrey’s life. She was a devoted member of Cross of Glory Lutheran Church for most of her adult years. At church, she found a community that enriched her spiritually and socially. Audrey participated in numerous volunteer events, taught Sunday school, and embraced the Lutheran liturgy.

Audrey is survived by her children: Andrea Pederson; Steve Pederson (Darlene); Doug Pederson (Beverlee); her grandchildren: Aaron, Laura, Matt, Peter, Elizabeth, Will, Anabel; and her great-grandchildren: Tallulah, Imani, Clover, Leela, Jai, Jasper, and Flora. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Eilert Burton Pederson.

Audrey will be remembered as a generous and giving soul who placed family at the heart of everything she did. Her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched with her kindness and unwavering love.
