Arthur Kvamme went home to the Lord on February 1st, 2018, surrounded by family. Arthur was born in 1923 in Twin Valley, MN. He served in the Navy and then earned a B.S. in engineering from the U of MN. Most of his career was spent with Armco Steel as a sales engineer, until he retired and started his own company Danart Inc. He was mayor of Brooklyn Park from 1963-1964. In addition to his professional career Art was a Charter member of the Brooklyn Park Lions for 56 years. He was a recipient of the John Lutter and Melvin Jones awards which are the highest achievable within the Lions club. Art loved hunting, fishing, golfing, and skiing. He is survived by his beloved wife Dolores; brother Conrad; son, Dan (Margy); daughter, Diane (Tom) Nokk; grandchildren, Sharon (Zach) Haeg and Eric and 3 great-grandchildren, Blake, Logan and Elijah. Preceded in death by parents, Hilda and Carl; sisters, Sonora and Bernice. Funeral service Wednesday, February 7th 11 AM at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 7217 W Broadway Ave, Brooklyn Park, with visitation one-hour prior. Private interment at Glen Haven Cemetery.
