Obituary for Arnold H. Murto

Arnold H. Murto, age 88, of Maple Grove, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2020.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Arlette; children, Michael (Judy), Mark (Jackie), James (Kim) and Jennifer (Pat); grandchildren, Sarah (Ben), Jessica (Tony), Tyler, Heather, Cameron (Sara), Nicole, Christian, Adam and Clara, great grandson Oliver and sister Elsie.

Preceded in death by brothers, George, Eugene, Edmond and Baby Jack; and grandchildren, Benjamin and Crista.

Arnold was a proud Korean War Veteran who enlisted because duty called. Upon returning from the service, he worked in the Pioneer Mine in Ely along with his brothers for twelve years. He then moved to the Minneapolis area for work as a welder. It was here that he met and married the love of his life and raised their family. He enjoyed traveling, weekends at the cabin, fishing in Canada, prime rib and spending time with family.

In light of concerns regarding the community spread of COVID-19 a private funeral will be held followed by interment at Lewis Cemetery, Maple Plain.

These people are wonderful. They went over and above in every possible way to help us with funeral arrangements, the visitation, service and burial, despite the fact that we had a limited budget. They were patient, kind, and treated us like family. This is a funeral home you can trust. Thank you, Evans-Nordby.
