Obituary for Arlene R. DeZiel

Arlene Rosella DeZiel, 97, passed away August 11, 2019. Arlene was born in Kensett, Iowa on April 30, 1922 to Mabel G. Bendickson and Reuben L. Hove. On May 8, 1943, Arlene married Harry DeZiel and together they raised seven children: Gloria, Glen, James, Allan, John, Kevin, and Steven.

Arlene was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved having a house full of family and friends, always with a smile on her face and thinking of others first. When time allowed, Arlene enjoyed selling real estate for many years. She was very proud of her brother Glen who fought in WWII and is buried in Normandy. Along with learning about her Norwegian heritage, Arlene loved to play Bridge and 500 with friends.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Harry. She is survived by daughter, Gloria (Donald) Larson; and six sons, Glen (Marie) DeZiel, James DeZiel, Allan (Leslie) DeZiel, John DeZiel, Kevin DeZiel, and Steven DeZiel; 12 grandchildren, Scott (Rachel) Larson, Lisa (Greg) Deyak, Steven (Nyree) Larson, Brian (Mary) DeZiel, Jennifer Cooper, Betsy (Tim) Engel, Leah (Emily) DeZiel, Justin (Shelley) DeZiel, Dannin (Sean) Grosso, Christopher DeZiel, Andrew DeZiel, and Jack DeZiel; 15 great grandchildren, Noah Larson, Gabriel Larson, Luna Larson, Julia Deyak, Joseph Deyak, Amaya Larson, Sophina Larson, Alexander DeZiel, Nikolas DeZiel, Sophia DeZiel, Katie Cooper, Jamie Engel, Lucas Engel, Gavin Grosso, Savannah Grosso, and Aubrey Grosso.

Visitation will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 17, 2019 one hour prior to the funeral at 11:00 AM at ST JOSEPH THE WORKER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7180 Hemlock Lane North, Maple Grove, MN 55369.
