Amy Berwald
August 9, 1973 - October 14, 2025
Amy Susan Orton Berwald went home to Jesus on October 14, 2025, surrounded by immense love, after a brief but courageously fought battle with cancer. She was 52 years old and a resident of Zimmerman, Minnesota.
Born on August 9, 1973, in Waconia, Minnesota, Amy lived a life filled with purpose, compassion, and joy. A dedicated ICU nurse, she poured her heart into caring for others with unmatched skill, empathy, and courage. Of all her roles in life, Amy was most proud to be a mother. Her children were her greatest joy, and she poured the same boundless love, humor, and strength into motherhood that she shared with everyone around her.
She loved life deeply; traveling often, running, laughing freely, and finding joy in even the simplest moments. Her radiant smile, quick wit, and adventurous spirit made her the heartbeat of every room. She had a way of making everyone feel seen, valued, and loved.
Amy is survived by her beloved children, Chase Robert and Jordyn Rebecca; her mother, Becky Mason Childers; and her siblings, Charles (Colleen) Orton, Jo Marie (Tom) Fries, and Shawn (Heather) Orton, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whom she chose to become family throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her father, David Orton.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing she is now free of pain and out running in the sunshine, laughing that contagious laugh, and watching over us with her radiant smile. Her love and light will continue to live on in all of us whose lives she touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor Amy’s incredible spirit and the countless lives she touched. Details to be shared via her CaringBridge site.
