Obituary for Alice Faye Williams

Alice Faye Williams passed away peacefully in her sleep at The Glenn Minnetonka, after a long battle with Parkinson’s on January 18, 2024.

A Celebration of life will be held for Alice on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at the Evans-Nordby Funeral Home in Osseo Minnesota at 4:30 PM. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service.

Alice was born on November 22, 1942 on the family farm in rural Sunburg, Minnesota. Alice grew up on the farm and attended country school not far from her home and later attended Kerkhoven High School where she graduated in 1960.

On July 2, 1961 she was united in marriage to Marshall Williams at the West Norway Lake Lutheran Church in rural Sunburg. They had two children (Eric and Jennifer). The two farmed for several years south of Kerkhoven. In 1965 Alice and Marshall moved to St. Cloud and then to Minneapolis where she worked for Sperry Univac. In 1968 Alice and Marshall moved to Hightstown, New Jersey where the family lived for 10 years. While in New Jersey, Alice worked in the accounting department for McGraw Hill Publishing. In 1978 Alice and Marshall moved back to Minnesota and settled in Maple Grove. While in Maple Grove, Alice worked in the business office for Hardrives Paving Inc., for 12 years before retiring in 1992.

Alice and Marshall enjoyed many things together. They went on ski trips to Michigan and Wisconsin. They also spent many winters with friends and family in Stuart, Florida and summers with family at their cabin in Pequot Lakes, Minnesota.

Alice will be remembered as a gentle soul who loved her family and adored her grandchildren (Emily, Curtis, Luke, Katie and Thomas). She attended many of the grandchildren's concerts, recitals, and sporting events. Alice was even blessed with her first great granddaughter, Agatha, on December 21, 2023!

Alice was extremely creative and had many hobbies such as needlepoint, sewing, crocheting and ceramics. She also played the accordion.

Her family will always remember Alice for her kindness, dry sense of humor and her quick wit. She had many lifelong friends whom she stayed in contact with throughout her life. She loved entertaining, and was an excellent cook and baker. No one ever left her house hungry!

Alice is survived by her husband, Marshall of Maple Grove, children: Eric (Marcia) Williams of St. Cloud, Jennifer (Mark) Pelant of St. Michael, sister Eileen Norby of New London. Five grandchildren: Emily Pelant (Dave Bergren), of Otsego, Curtis Williams of Denver, CO, Luke (Julia) Pelant, of Delano, Katie (Isaac) Wieber, of Minneapolis, Thomas Pelant, of St. Paul and one great granddaughter: Agatha Pelant, of Delano.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Dewayne , Winfield and Russell, sisters: Yvonne Lindgren, and Lenore Ellendson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research are preferred. https://www.michaeljfox.org/

These people are wonderful. They went over and above in every possible way to help us with funeral arrangements, the visitation, service and burial, despite the fact that we had a limited budget. They were patient, kind, and treated us like family. This is a funeral home you can trust. Thank you, Evans-Nordby.
