Marjorie A. "Marge" (Desautel) McMillian, of Osseo, MN passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at North Memorial Health in Robbinsdale, MN at the age of 94 years.

A life-long Minnesotan, Marge was born in Brooks, MN on August 24, 1922 to her parents, Ovid and Lilly Shank Desautel. After graduating from Plummer High School in 1940, she relocated to North St. Paul with her parents where she worked at the Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant in support of the World War II effort. After the war, she moved to Little Falls, MN with her parents where she fell in love and married Leonard McMillin after his service in the U.S. Army in the European Theatre. Their one and only son, Neil, was born in 1946 and they later moved to New Brighton, MN in 1950 where they lived for the next twenty years. They built two homes in New Brighton and a lake home in Brainerd and retired in 1970 to Grand Rapids, MN. They enjoyed summers “Up North” fishing and camping and winters in their RV in Arizona, Texas, and Arkansas for 20 years. They moved to Brooklyn Park, MN in 1998 when Leonard became ill. Leonard passed shortly thereafter and Marge relocated to Osseo REALIFE Cooperative where she has resided for the past 14 years. Always a devout Catholic, Marge was a long time member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Brooklyn Park.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Ovid and Lilly Desautel; step-father, Frank Bourgeois; half-brother, Roy Desautel; and loving husband, Leonard.

She is survived by son, Neil and daughter-in-law, Judy McMillin of Maple Grove, MN; granddaughter, Melissa Nelson (Jeff) of Saint Michael, MN; great granddaughter, Gabrielle Nelson of Mankato, MN; and great grandson, Nicholas Nelson of Saint Michael, MN. Also survived by many friends and neighbors at Osseo REALIFE Cooperative where she was loved by all.

Services will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Saint Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, 9100 93rd Avenue North Brooklyn Park, MN 55445, with visitation at 10 am followed by Mass at 11 am and luncheon following. Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Memorials preferred to American Heart Association or donor’s choice.
