Bernard Frances Taylor was born December 4, 1938 in Rice Lake, WI. In 8th grade he left school to help out on the family farm. At the age of 16 he moved to Minneapolis to find work.

While he was in Minneapolis he met the love of his life, Georgia Mae. They were married June 6, 1959 and lived in Minneapolis and that is where Mark, Steve, and Debbie came along. In 1965 they packed up the family and moved to Maple Grove, then along came Danny, Sandy, and Vicki.

Bernie worked for the City of Maple Grove for 30 years until he retired in 1999. A few years after retirement he lost his wife Georgia Mae to cancer. Six years later he lost his daughter Debra to a rare lung disease. Bernie always stayed positive and his faith got him through those tough times.

Bernie loved to spend time with his family and friends, fishing, wood working, camping, hunting, and gardening. Family meant everything to Bernie. He always had an open door policy. When you came over he made sure you felt welcome. His smile, positive attitude and funny stories would make you want to come back for more.

Bernie passed away unexpectedly due to congestive heart failure on November 13, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center, Coon Rapid. He left behind 5 children, 19 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed

Our son recently passed away and of course you never expect to have to deal with this for your children so my wife and I were not only devastated but didn’t know what to do or where to turn next. Evans-Nordby was recommended to us by our Priest and I’m so glad he did. From the moment I talked to Tina on the phone I could tell we were in good hands as she took care of every detail. We met with her the next day and she went through all the aspects of what we were to expect in the coming days, weeks, then months ahead. Every employee we had contact with at Evans-Nordby was kind, compassionate and extremely professional. Thanks Tina and to all at Evans-Nordby for making an unbearable experience at least tolerable.
