Wendell O. Carland, age 95 passed into eternal life on August 2, 2012.

Preceded by wife of 62 years, Florence; parents, Oscar & Ellen Carland; brother, Maurice Carland; twin brother, Wilbur Carland; sisters, Marian Hacquail and Helen Kisch. Survived by sisters, Betty Pomerleau and Barbara (Chuck) Bohannon; as well as daughter, Nila (Bernie) Cahill; son, Bob Carland; grandchildren, Tracy (Michael) Kiefer, Emily (Jim) Ruiz, Molly (Erik) Schefers, Eun Jung (Colin) Decker, Justin Carland and Matthew Carland & 5 great grandchildren.

The family wants to thank the Berkshire staff for their love and care while he was a resident at the Berkshire Residence, also thank you to friends and extended family who visited faithfully. He loved you all and thought you were “Wonderful.”

Wendell was a lifelong resident of Osseo who served his church and his community through his many acts of kindness. He was a committed blood donor, member of the District 279 school board, nominated for 11 Who Care, and a World War II Veteran. Worship and work were the touchstones of his life and he combined the two on many mission trips with his church.

Funeral Service 11AM Tuesday Aug 7, 2012 at the Church of the Nazarene, 224 1st Ave NW Osseo, MN with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Interment at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
